Phasonic

What's new

Release notes for each version of Phasonic, newest first. To see which 2B firmware each version supports, see compatibility.

Third alpha update.

  • The dial and fader views are now one vertical fader: scale, level, marks and controls on a single card. The Dials/Faders preference is gone.
  • Calibration gains Felt, Pleasurable and Painful marks beside your calibrated maximum, kept per firmware, mode, channel and power level.
  • Drag the maximum and every threshold on the fader, or set them in the Calibrate workbench by keyboard or screen reader.
  • Copy calibration between channels.
  • With a safety stop latched, the channel readout shows only levels the device has reported.
  • A connection lost during a safety stop is stated plainly, with no Resume offered that cannot work.
  • Safety stops are announced with their reason, and focus stays where you left it when a button becomes unavailable.
  • Unreadable settings are left alone rather than overwritten, and the output limit is withheld rather than defaulting to a permissive one until they can be read.

Second alpha update.

  • Firmware 2.127B is supported, including its battery reading.
  • Phasonic drives output only on firmware that has been tested with it on a real 2B, and declines to drive any other.
  • Calibration: set a maximum for each firmware, mode, channel and power level. It takes the place of the limit, now called the default limit, wherever one is set.
  • If Phasonic ever closes unexpectedly, output is stopped as it closes, and the next launch offers to report what happened.
  • Send feedback from Settings, under About. It opens a form on phasonic.app in your browser; Phasonic itself still sends nothing.

First alpha update.

  • Give each channel a label of your own.
  • A battery indicator shows the 2B’s charge, tells battery from mains power, and warns when the battery is low.
  • A link to the privacy policy in Settings, under About.
  • A pre-release build warns you before it expires, and once expired explains why it will not connect.

First alpha.

  • Phasonic finds the 2B over its Digital Link and reconnects on its own. There is no port to choose.
  • Output starts at zero on every connection, a limit you set clamps live output, and Esc stops everything from anywhere in the app.
  • An output-integrity watchdog stops output the moment the device stops matching what you asked for.
  • Supports firmware 2.106 and 2.132B.
  • Works entirely offline: no account, no cloud, and nothing leaves your computer.
